Megan Couri (Usui Reiki)

Hi! I’m Megan Couri, a Master Reiki practitioner in Usui Reiki, Angel Reiki and professional occupational therapist. I would like to share about my journey to Reiki.

I was always told, "you are so sensitive," as a child and as an adult. At this time in my life, I know that being an empath and feeling others emotions is a strength, not a weakness. Instead of absorbing negative energy, I have learned to embrace my caring spirit with boundaries, meditate to declutter my mind, listen to spirit, and use Reiki to free stuck energy. I am so grateful to bring these skills into practice with you!

I felt an immediate connection to Reiki after my first session.  Laying on the table, I immediately felt relieved, light, and full of love. That week, I noticed that things that would have bothered me, would not stick. I was easily able to let go and concentrate on a bigger perspective. My reiki experience brought me so much joy, I could not deny this was one of my life lessons and new journey.

In my Reiki sessions, I combine knowledge of aromatherapy and intuitive messages to help create a healing environment and session.

Kristy Liesegang (Reiki)

Hi! My name is Kristy Liesegang and I have always been intrigued with energy healing. In June 2018, I suffered from a head injury and had Post-Concussion Syndrome for nine months. I tried everything from acupuncture, head trauma massages, and meditation to help alleviate my ongoing migraines, panic attacks, and depression. After finally trying Reiki, I immediately experienced such profound calming effects, not only on a physical level, but also on my emotional and mental state of mind. My injury was a turning point in my life, as I truly had to heal from the inside out, face my vulnerabilities, and learn to be my own hero.

I became fascinated with healing and the human spirit’s connection. I decided to get certified in Reiki Second Degree honoring the spiritual lineage of Usui in October 2020. When Covid hit, my mother was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I frequently performed Reiki sessions on her between chemotherapy treatments and she truly reaped the benefits of energy healing. I am thankful to say she is cancer-free today.

With a strong appetite for learning and growing, I have completed a 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training, participated in a number of Qigong classes, trained in Yin Yoga, taken lessons in sound healing, and obtained a Master Level of the Usui System of Reiki Energy Healing. In addition to Ann’s Place, I also volunteer at Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association and perform Reiki sessions on the Hospice patients and staff. I continue to provide private yoga sessions, and fit in my various hobbies of walking, hiking, cooking, and reading.

From my concussion experience, I know what it is like to only have your breath to calm down and listen to your body’s sensations. During my Reiki sessions, I incorporate unique meditation exercises, the use of crystals and essential oils, and sound healing instruments to help patients look beyond their physical selves and challenge their minds and bodies in a healing way.
